�����ҹ����1000���ϼ�92 of the Cumberlands has a question it strives to answer: how can the university better serve the individuals who have served, or are currently serving, our country’s military?

So far, the answer has been to make more Cumberlands degree programs available online, to lower the tuition rate so more military members and veterans can afford to pursue the programs, and to offer special discounts and scholarships for the U.S. military. Past military or college work may be applied directly to a degree. In addition to making the admission process smooth and the college experience memorable, Cumberlands does its best to emphasize flexibility and accessibility for the U.S. military.

It's due to these initiatives and Cumberlands’ commitment to making higher education accessible and relevant to U.S. military members and veterans that Cumberlands was recently  Less than 13 percent of schools evaluated received this designation. Per a release by Military Friendly®, gold status is given to schools based on their “leading practices, outcomes, and effective programs.”

The university was first named a Military Friendly® School in 2021, ranking in the top ten nationally at the time. Also that year, the organization listed Cumberlands as a Military Spouse Friendly® School. The university received gold Military Friendly® status last year and again this year. In addition to serving current and past U.S. military members, �����ҹ����1000���ϼ�92 of the Cumberlands offers an Army ROTC program on its Williamsburg campus. The Patriots Company is taught leadership skills such as planning, communication, and time management, as well as military tactics and physical fitness, among other core Army values.
