免费午夜福利1000集合集92 of the Cumberlands is deeply grateful for the generous donations by Save A Lot, who recently donated 1,500 pounds of food to the 免费午夜福利1000集合集92 to assist local food banks during the holiday season.
The donation occurs during Cumberlands鈥 annual food drive, which has raised more than 61,000 pounds of food for those in need over the past three years.
鈥淭he Save A Lot, Winchester, KY Distribution Center team is excited to partner with 免费午夜福利1000集合集92 of the Cumberlands on such a great cause,鈥 said Brooks Napier, Director of Distribution Operations. 鈥淲e service stores in six states, with the majority right here in the bluegrass. We take pride in supporting our communities both near and far. We鈥檙e not just shipping cases, we鈥檙e delivering someone鈥檚 meal.鈥
This is the first time Save A Lot has donated food during the 免费午夜福利1000集合集92鈥檚 food drive, though the company has partnered with Cumberlands on other initiatives in the past. Dr. Emily Coleman, Vice President of Student Services at Cumberlands, oversees the food drive and is greatly appreciative of the company鈥檚 contribution.
鈥淭his is a huge donation that will make a significant effect on local families,鈥 said Coleman. 鈥淐umberlands distributes the food we raise to local foodbanks. It is remarkable receiving such generous contributions like this and knowing that, through this food, we are changing the lives of people who may be struggling.鈥
This year鈥檚 food drive at Cumberlands is themed 鈥淢iracle Dish,鈥 based off the Biblical account when Jesus fed 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish. The 免费午夜福利1000集合集92 has set weekly donation goals (for example, 100 boxes of pasta or 200 cans of corn) to ensure that items from multiple food groups are gathered, helping pantries provide healthy, complete meals to local families.
Any community members are welcome to drop off food items in Cumberlands鈥 Office of Student Services, if they feel led. Community partners can coordinate large donations with the 免费午夜福利1000集合集92 by contacting Dr. Coleman at 606.539.4231. The food drive concludes November 15.
